INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Fanuc 14" Colour Screen

Contents of shipping carton: 14" industrial colour monitor, alcohol pad to clean inside of tinted perspex protective screen on control, plastic bag to save screws when removing old unit.

  1. Turn off all AC power at main isolator and wait five minutes.

  2. Wear protective safety glasses with side shields. There is a vacuum inside the CRT (tube) and it will implode if broken, spraying glass all over. Do not touch any part inside the monitor casing. High voltages may still be present long after the unit has been turned off.

  3. Remove the AC power lead(s) from the top left of the monitor. Note where they came from.

  4. Remove the grey Honda data input connector by undoing the two small Phillips screws (if present) and pressing the two chrome tabs top and bottom of the plug and pulling gently.

  5. At the back of the monitor, underneath, you will find two large Phillips screws pointing upwards. Remove these. If there is a third mounting screw on an angled bracket next to the AC input, remove it. Save the screws.

  6. The monitor should now lift out, by sliding it back away from the two front mounting lugs and up and back. Be careful, the screen is heavy, and unevenly balanced.

  7. Clean the inside of the perspex screen on the control with the alcohol pad provided.

  8. Fit the new monitor, replacing the mounting screws, and then the Honda plug and power lead(s) in the correct location.

  9. Power up the machine and you should have some kind of picture on the screen. The preset controls for the monitor are located at the bottom left of the back of the unit, (and may also be fitted on the multi-coloured flying lead so you can adjust the picture from the front). The controls are marked, brightness, contrast, horizontal hold, vertical size, etc., and by careful adjustment of one control at a time you will be able to get the picture to correspond exactly with the buttons on the front of the control. Excessive twiddling of the vertical and horizontal hold controls may cause the screen to go out of sync, and display only lines or a garbled image. Use common sense.
